NEIGHBORS ACT TO SAVE FIRE DISTRICT

Neighbors United member Cliff Earp spoke for the group when he addressed the June 9 Apple Valley Town Council to protest any move to take over the local Fire District. In part Earp wanted the Council and particularly Mayor Rick Rolle, who was championing the take- over bid, to know that; "We incorporated this Town for local control and there is no more local control than having a locally elected Fire Board of Directors and ninety percent of the firefighters living in our Town".

After hearing comment from Earp and many other speakers the Council voted unanimously to drop the Fire Board takeover and not discuss it in the future unless requested to do so by the Fire Board itself.

Neighbors United will continue to stay involved in local issues to represent your interests in mainataining our "better way of life" in Apple

Our Mission

"To find, validate and support knowledgeable, responsive candidates for elective office focused on a future that provides a "better way of life" for all Apple Valley residents by balancing growth and development.

We seek to support individuals who hold the following core
beliefs :

Leaders must be accountable for their decisions based on fact
and the process
transparent to voters and stakeholders.

Appropriate land planning decisions are made for the good of the entire community.
Balancing growth with lifestyle is the goal.

An absolute commitment to public safety.
Fire, police and safe
communities will never be sacrificed for political expediency.

Leaders mean what they say and say what they mean.
Their vision and
purpose does not change with shifting political winds or pressure.
